Where Excellence Begins

The Barbecue Competitors Alliance is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the public promote, cook, enjoy, and teach barbecue and related meat-smoking techniques. BCA supports civic and charitable groups as they organize and produce sanctioned contests.

BCA was founded to give cooks meaningful product feedback. Competitors can see their contest scores, taste top-finishing entries after awards when permitted, and learn from judges' comment cards. The goal is simple: improve the quality of barbecue while keeping contests cook-friendly, credible, and fair.
